Out There in the Park

Hi there!
This is my layout for the Craftmania Challenge

The challenge is to use the items in the kit provided.
The photo was taken at last year's Out There Festival in Great Yarmouth.
We spent some time taking silly photos of ourselves.

I used various Marianne Design dies for the flowers and bird.

Fairytale goes Steampunk!!

Hi Everyone!!
Hope you are having a lovely weekend.

I have been working on a challenge for SanDee and Amelie's Steampunk challenge;
'Fairytale Steampunk'
Can you guess what mine is?

First I drew a wolf shape on some corrugated card and covered it with scraps of aluminium tape.
Using a ball tool I made lines and dots, then painted it with black acrylic paint and wiped it off leaving paint in the dents.
I cut some cogs and made them look rusty with embossing powder before sticking them behind the wolf's mane.
My son allowed me to borrow some Warhammer paint for the blood! The colour is called Red Gore!!
I joined the lower jaw to the head using a key brad, so it can move up and down.
I made an opening and closing eye like a camera shutter.  This was quite complicated but effective.
There is a lever behind the head to open and close the eye.
Yes of course, the fairytale is Red Riding Hood.
I really had a lot of fun making this and would like to enter into the Steampunk Challenge.

I hope you like it too.

Archi-Scraps Challenge 8

I recently found a new Scrapbooking site
called Archi-Scraps.
Their current challenge is to use a photo of David Cerny's
Metalmorphosis
as inspiration

If you go to Archi-Scraps there is a link to the video of this amazing piece of public art.

The added criteria is to use a headshot for your photo and bling!

This photo is of my youngest daughter and her best friend at their school prom.
I used various sprays and inks on the background of a ripped pizza box.

Here is a close up of some of the bling.
For the semi-heart I inked and then clear embossed, over this I brushed some perfect pearls powder and then reheated it- it gives a lovely shimmery effect.

Have a good Sunday!

We Love Molly Coggles!

From Screen to Scrap's inspirational poster this month is from the film 'a tree grows in Brooklyn'
The criteria to be used were to include a tree, some leaves and use a black and white photo.
This photo is of one of our guinea pigs - Molly Coggles!
As Molly is a ginger pig browns on the page were the only way to go.
I used a svg cut for the tree and also cut out the title on my cricut.

I also used a sketch from Sketchbook 365 to make a start on this layout.

The Last Days of the Girly Gang

Good Morning everyone!
Here its raining so a perfect day for some crafting... after the housework, washing and cooking :(
I'll just make sure I do the minimum so I have plenty of time to craft :)

This layout is of my daughter and her friends, taken at the middle school prom.  These girls stuck together like glue! until they went off to high school and made new friends and drifted into new girly gangs!
The original photo was taken with a horrible orange background and really didn't go with the girls' dresses at all, so I cut it away.
I used a brass stencil for the background and inked it with distress inks and brushed over perfect pearls powders for a lovely shimmery girly effect.
I made the flower on the right using lining paper, inked this and powdered it too.

Thanks very much for visiting me!

I have found a new Vintage challenge site called Vintage Stamping Challenges and they are having an anything goes challenge.

Also It's All About the Vintage are having a nice challenge - Brown tones.

Have a lovely evening.

Screen 2 Scrap - Villa Volta

Hi everyone, on this windy Sunday.  It certainly feels like the first day of Autumn now, the sun is low its windy and there's a chill in the air :(  Time to get out the scarves and gloves!

Screen to scrap's challenge this month is to make a layout with the poster of Last House on the left as inspiration.  A house must feature somewhere so I made this the photo.
I did lots of stamping and embossing with gold and copper powders.

The story of this house is that it belonged to the leader of a band of thieves called Hugo Van Der Loonsch-duinen and (in short) he did some really bad things and is imprisoned in the house for eternity.
The walls of the house turn and make you feel as if you are upside-down; not a good idea to go on this ride if you have just eaten chips and mayonnaise!!!

Swedish Girl visits Holland

I wanted to give this card a Dutch look and stamped the 'tiles' on the sides.
Behind Tilda are some Dutch houses stamps by Avec.
The cobbles and the lamp post are made by me from carved erasers.
the leafy bits behind the flowers (Kaisercraft) are from a Joy die.
Before Christmas I bought a Teresa Collins stampmaker and used it to make my own 'handmade by' stamp which is on the back. It's quite exciting to see the stamp taking shape.
I am very pleased with the way this card has turned out - hope you like it too!

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Simply Magnolia - dies and/or punches and ribbon
Just Magnolia - more than 1 fold

Raining Hearts Tilda Birthday Card

Happy Sunday! I hope you are all having a good one :)
This Raining Hearts Tilda is coloured in with Distress Inks - I think its easier than using promarkers.

My eldest daughter sent me a voucher to spend at the local craft shop for Mother's Day :)
I spent it pretty quickly! and one of the items I bought was this lovely Anja die by Marianne Creatables. It's so delicate and lacy.
I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
TOMIC - Rectangular Card and Spring Colours Inspired by Magazine
Totally Gorjuss - Spots and Stripes

From Screen 2 Scrap challenge - The Day After Tomorrow

This month's Screen 2 Scrap inspiration is from the film poster of The day after tommorrow.
The three things to be included are; white with a touch of blue, one photo and a white title.

When I think of blue and white I think Dutch!! so a photo of a windmill seemed very appropriate. I wanted the layout to look like a Dutch tile.

The photo was taken at the open air museum near Arnhem where buildings from around the country are rebuilt in the museum.... a great idea so historic buildings are not lost.

Le Petit Camouflage - Artastic Challenge

This is a photo of my son when he was two. We were on the beach in France and he almost 'disappeared' into the landscape with his desert camouflage dungaree shorts!
Apart from the blue cardstock the papers and embellishments are all winnings from the Soul Scrappers Sense-ational challenge. Thanks Shazza!! :)
I used a Creative Scrapper's sketch no 198 for this LO
I gutted the background papers and made embellishments with them - I really hate to waste paper that is hidden.

I am entering this into the Artastic Chinamen's beach challenge.

Saturday, 3 March 2012

Hi, Everyone!
Hope you are having a good Saturday!
Here I have used Raining Hearts Tilda in some nice bright colours. there's lots of bling going on on this card - some nice pearls and lots of pearl dots and glitter on the flowers.
The red flowers are die cuts from a cuttlebug die and the oval background is a Nellie Snellen die.
The smaller flowers are from a punch and made in the same way as the larger red ones.
I also did some faux stitching with a white glaze pen around the edges of the backing papers.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Simply Magnolia - Bling and Bows
Totally Tilda - Die cuts and punches
Just Magnolia - anything goes with a bit of stitching
Simon Says - anything goes

Thanks very much for visiting :)

The Key to Tilda's Heart

Hi everyone, I think I am having a bit of a Tilda obsession at the moment!
I decided to make an easel card with a bit of a difference this time, so I made the base easel from cogs cut on my cricut.
I cut out the heart on the cricut too and embossed it with a new embossing folder by Couture Creations. It's a nice big folder too.

The smaller cogs and the key were embossed with various different embossing powders - some of which I mixed together.
The sentiment was printed out from the computer and last of all Tilda was stamped with Distress Ink which I washed with a wet brush for the shading.

black and red card

Good evening everyone, hope you are all having a good weekend.
I love black and red and love this card!
I coloured the Gorjuss girl with Promarkers - the red is Berry Red

I got out all the little pieces of red and black card I have left over from other projects.
I stamped and embossed the black card with a flourish stamp and the rose stamp is embossed with cherry smelling embossing powder!!
The frame behind the girl is a Nellie Snellen die and embossed with red glitter powder.
I distressed the edges with scissors and used black soot to distress the edges of the red card.

heart shaped easel card

I'm on a bit of a roll at the moment! I've made a couple of cards today and a tag!

This gorgeous romantic couple is a photo stamp by Oxford Impressions.
I used some vintage style pretty papers and cut out some flowers too.
The flowers are glittered.
I'm really pleased with the way this card turned out.
I am entering this card into the pink and glittery challenge on Crafts and Me challenge site as this is quite pink and glittery!
