Vintage Style Christmas Card

I made this card following a sketch for Cute Card Thursday's sketch challenge but went a little wrong, but I think its still recognisable. Across the middle I used crepe paper which I stamped and mica powdered.

Bye for now

Simon Says Stamp and show some Tickets

Hi everyone, hope you're having a great Sunday.

This is my entry into the simon Says Stamp and Show challenge - show some tickets

The wordin on the tag says enjoy the memoirs - unfortunately memoirs doesn't show too well on the photo. My ideas for this piece were to make a time machine tag - and the tickets would allow you to be taken back in time.

The clock is a squashed bottle cap in which I put a stamped clock face and filled this with crackle glaze. The wings are from a metal butterfly which I snapped in half and covered with alcohol inks.

The best thing about being a woman?

Once upon a Sketch challenge this month is to journal about what is the best thing about being a woman! lots of things! at the same time!! lol.

After all we are multi-taskers aren't we?

I recently went to The Range and bought this great Kraft cardstock - really cheap too! compared to some other shops.
I used my cricut to cut the border (Storybook) and my cuttlebug for the lettering.
The black and white pictures are from a site 'digital two for Tuesday'

the Stampman challenge

The challenge set by the stampman challenge blog is to create something using techniques from the Christmas tags by Tim Holtz.

I looked at the tags and decided to use the backgound technique on the day 12 tag 2009.

The colours I used are aged mahogany and tumbled glass.

Elegant lady

This is my entry for the sketch challenge on the Saturday Challenge blog, I have also combined it with another challenge on Simon Says Stamp and Show - Women only

The lady stamp is by Oxford Impressions.

I embossed with a purple cosmic shimmer on the sentiment and round the edges, unfortunately it doesn't show in the photo how beautiful it is.

Jack Skellington cake

Hi everyone, hope you're having a lovely Sunday!

I thought I would post some pictures from my youngest daughter's birthday last week.

As you might guess she is a fan of Nightmare Before Christmas, so I made her a Jack Skellington cake.

My mum is a cardmaker now, I think she caught the virus off me!!!

Here's her lovely bird and flowers card.

Lastly this is the card I made for my daughter. I used a svg cutting file made by Mardenz and cut it out on my cricut.

Home for the holidays from Screen 2 Scrap

November's Screen 2 Scrap Inspiration came from the poster of the film 'Home for the Holidays'

The criteria to follow was

1) Journal in white pen = 1 pt

2) Use the word 'HOME' in your title = 2 pts

3) Use a photo of a family gathering = 3 pts

I've had this photo hanging around for ages and thought I better do something with it!!

It was difficult to scrap because of the bright blue background, but when I cut it off, everything became much easier.

The cardstock is a frozen pizza box!! I gessoed the brick using a stencil I cut on my cricut and the clock and diamonds are embossed with sea foam white powder.

The patterned papers are by Kaisercraft.

Wish - wedding layout

Hi everyone, I hope you are having a nice weekend.

At my daughter's wedding it showered a few times but certainly didn't ruin the day.

The vicar said it was good luck, so that was alright!

The photo is of my daughters and bridesmaids going into the church before the wedding ceremony.

Some time ago I experimented with stamping onto masking tape and kept it on some plastic pockets. I used some of this across the centre of the page.

The title I stained with green ink and then put crackle glaze over the top.

most of the flowers are from a still life painting that I printed out and cut into many pieces. the butterflies are from a hot off the press nature collage book
