Frosted Designs - embossing challenge

Good morning!

I made this Tilda card for the frosted designs - friday challenge which was to include some embossing.  The background card is in fact an old Easter egg box; the colour inside is perfect for vintage cards.  The star die cuts are also embossed with copper and gold powders.  The top one with 'vanilla' powder - it smells really wonderful!!! Vanilla is definitely my favourite taste.

Will be posting some more stuff soon, having a great crafting weekend!!!

Together Wedding Layout

This is my daughter on her wedding day dancing to Endless love by Lionel Ritchie.

I used a sketch from Frosted Designs challenges and the title Together is a word to by used for the Bird is the Word challenge site.

This layout smells really nice!! I used chocolate brownie embossing powder on the swirls and vanilla for the music paper . Behind the photo is a tag with the lyrics to the song.

Thanks for all the lovely comments you have left me :)

Our Vintage Affair July Sketch Challenge

Hi everyone,

This is a layout I have made of my daughter's wedding last September.

Our Vintage Affair July challenge is to use the sketch from their blog and to use at least one handmade flower - easy!! I love making flowers and for this layout I crocheted the flowers in the top right hand corner.

The bands going across the page are made from masking tape that I stamped using distress ink (it takes a while to dry)

I also found some whitewash colourcore card in a sale and embossed this in the cuttlebug and sanded it. I love the colours and the effect it gives.

stamped butterfly card

Hello everyone,

I have managed to combine several challenges for this card. First I started with the sketch and to make the background with stamps (Our Vintage Affair). I used one of my favourite techniques by Tim Holtz for the Grungy Monday challenge 11.

The stampman challenge this week is to make something with butterflies and dragonflies, and Polkadoodles have a challenge - all of a flutter.
Finally a really easy one!! delightful sketches is anything goes.
All the stamps I used are by Tim Holtz.

Thanks for looking

The Stamp Man Challenge

Good morning to you all, hope it's a good one!!

This card is my entry for the Anything Tim challenge that is being held on the Stamp Man Challenge blog.

I have used 3 Tim stamps: the car, the sentiment and the swirls, which I embossed with vintage photo distress embossing powder. The car is covered with glaze and very shiny.

The Eiffel Tower stamp is from a travel stamp set and the building is one of my new stamps from Oxford Impressions (stunning stamps!!!!!!!)

Have a lovely day

Dimensional Collage Fragment technique

This week at Studio L3 the challenge is to use the Dimensional Collage Fragment technique as featured in Tim Holtz's Compendium of Curiosities book. As I don't have any of these fragments I improvised with some very thick clear dimensional square stickers. I punched out some hearts from dictionary paper and back this with some pink oriental paper.
The tag is made from chipboard which I painted with white acrylic. then a layer of PVA and while it was wet another layer of white paint. This produced a nice crackle efffect when it dried. I inked this with Dusty concord distress ink.
I stamped the flowers and leaves and painted over them with acrylic paint. I can't paint leaves so I stamped over them with a Tim Holtz swirl and copper embossed it. I embossed the edges and finished off by attaching my three 'fragments'.
thanks for visiting my blog and leaving such nice comments :)

love you more...

Happy Thursday everyone, hope you're having a good day!
I cut out a red heart and embossed it with a TH folder and then swiped ink over the top and clear embossed it.
The hanger for the tag is a humble coke can ring pull that I embossed with verdigris embossing powder.
The flower was cut out using the cricut - George cartridge. On the petals I used the rusted Enamel technique from Tim Holtz's wonderful Compendium of Curiosities book. In the centre is a star shaped eyelet.
The love you more tag is a free stamp from Craftstamper magazine, which I also clear embossed.
I am entering this into the following challenges:
Fantabulous Cricut - share the love

Sir Stampalot December Challenge

Hi everyone, hope you are nearly ready for Christmas!!

I made this card using my favourite Dutch Houses stamps and a home made one (its supposed to look like a cobbled road). I then embossed with seafoam white and voila!! the background was embossed with swiss dots folder. A very quick and easy card :)

distress ink gothic arch

Hi everyone, hope you are not too cold! It is snowing on and off at the moment here. Insided crafting is the best place to be :)
I had this sudden urge to make a gothic arch (haven't made one before, but love the shape)
The doors on the front are made using the double distress method from Tim Holtz Compendium of Curiosities. I am entering this into the Studio L3 Double distress Challenge no #23. The colours I used are Barn Door and Walnut Stain.

the background on the inside is barn door and perfect pearls gold sprayed onto baking parchment and the card smooshed around on it. It has a nice shimmery effect. I stamped and embossed the dragon in copper and painted peeled paint distress ink on the body.
I masked the dragon and stamped the windows behind, masked them and stamped another window at the top. I used watercolour pencils to colour them. Oh, the wings of the dragon are embossed with holographic powder.

The hinges I cut with my NEW cricut machine. It doesn't just cut cutesy animals but a lot more!!
These I embossed with a cuttlebug halloween folder, just as the doors. an old beady earring completes the door.
I am also entering this into the Simon Says Stamp and Show your distress inks
and also Fab and funky challenge - go with the flow.
and Paper Cutz challenge anything goes
Thanks for looking and all your lovely comments :)

card for a man

This card is made using a Tim Holtz embossing folder and distress inks; weathered wood, antique linen and walnut stain.
I copper embossed most of is except for the wording which is black and copper sprinkled together. Its very difficult to show the embossing in a photo as its really shiny.
I am entering this card into the Stampman challenge #8 - cards for men
and also The creative cottage challenge #26 - embossing (there is lots on my card both dry and heat) And Challenge up your life #30 - Easel Card

Make your own stamps!

Hi, everyone - hope you are having a good Sunday
I wanted to show you a stamp I made. I have seen so many nice birdcage stamps around and thought I would have a go at making my own.
In the local pound shop I found a set of four rubbers - 2 big and 2 small - Perfect!
I drew out my design using a soft pencil and then turned it over on top of the rubber, rubbed and transferred the design onto it.
Cutting it out with a lino tool requires a little patience but I think this only took me about 20 minutes.
I stamped the birdcage and embossed it with a cosmic shimmer embossing powder.
To stamp the birds inside I cut a mask for the outside and stamped through this so none of the bird stamp shows outside the cage.

This tag is made using the halloween embossing folder (Tim Holtz of course!!)
I stamped the spider and dark red embossed his back - he is lovely and shiny but it doesn't show in the photo.

drunken stampers challenge

Hi everyone, this is a cheap frame from a well-known Swedish shop! that I covered in embossed silver card. I used several different embossing folders to make different designs and then glued them to the frame. After this, I painted with black acrylic paint and quickly wiped it away to reveal some of the silver card underneath.
I am entering this into the drunken stampers challenge - dry embossing and paint.
bye, Jolanda

cute card thursday challenge

This week's Cute Card Thursday challenge is to make a card with an aperture. So here's my effort, a last minute Christmas Card. I embossed the front and inside with cuttlebug embossing folders and the aperture was cut out using a frame die from Nellie Snellen. Hope you like it. Oh, I also added quite a bit of glitter, I seem to be addicted to it now!
