Archi-Scraps Challenge 8

I recently found a new Scrapbooking site
called Archi-Scraps.
Their current challenge is to use a photo of David Cerny's
Metalmorphosis
as inspiration

If you go to Archi-Scraps there is a link to the video of this amazing piece of public art.

The added criteria is to use a headshot for your photo and bling!

This photo is of my youngest daughter and her best friend at their school prom.
I used various sprays and inks on the background of a ripped pizza box.

Here is a close up of some of the bling.
For the semi-heart I inked and then clear embossed, over this I brushed some perfect pearls powder and then reheated it- it gives a lovely shimmery effect.

Thanks for visiting
Have a good Sunday!

Butterfly stamped card

Hello,

This is my second offering for today.

I inked and stamped some cheap photo paper - the stars and butterfly are free stamps from Craft Stamper magazine.
I painted the butterfly with perfect pearls and clear embossed over the top.

I have found a new challenge site called Tuesday Alchemy and they are having an anything goes challenge.  The stampman have changed their challenges to once a month and their challenge is Birds, Butterflies and Bees.
Top Tip Tuesday allow up to 3 entries for their challenge so I would like to enter this one in their Things with Wings challenge.

Thank you so much for visiting and I do love to read your comments!

Tim inspired tag

There is a new challenge on Studio L3's wonderful blog - Grungy Mondays

Its all about inspiration from the creations of Lord Tim Holtz!!

this first challenge is to take inspiration from one of his Christmas tags.

Tim Holtz's blog is here

I embossed the owl with copper embossing powder and painted in blue and green perfect pearls.

The leaf image around the edge was also stamped and brushed over with the green.

I shimmers beautifully in the light.

The owl is standing on some seaweed? that I picked up off the beach. I never go there without bringing something back!

Let's Get Shabby #19

I think this is one of the most minimal layouts I have ever done! Usually I pile on the papers and embellishments but I think this is definitely a case of less is more!!
First I sprayed antique linen distress ink mixed with water and some perfect pearls over an arched window stencil.
I printed off the music paper (a free download from Craft Stamper Magazine) and stamped and embossed gold swirls. The large flourish at the bottom of the photo was cut using my cricut machine.
Last December I won Fairycut software which is used with the cricut, but you don't need cartridges you can make your own designs. I used this software to make a rhinestone swirly template and used it with liquid pearls to make a design on the right hand side of the photo. (It looks very pretty but doesn't show up that well in the photo.
I am entering this layout into the Let's Get Shabby challenge - visit their blog - they have such beautiful and stunning designs.

Studio L3 CC Challenge 21

This tag was made following the perfect distress technique from the Compendium of Curiosities book by Tim Holtz. Turn to page 38 for the instructions.
For the background I used tumbled glass and peeled paint distress inks.
The houses are from one of my favourite stamp set - Craft houses by AVEC. The lamp post is one I carved from an eraser.
This technique has made the tag look a bit watery so I accentuated it with weathered wood brushed on to look like water at the bottom.
I enjoyed using this technique - it seemed a bit scary and out of control at first, but turned out ok. I decided to leave this tag embellishmentless - nothing I added looked right! But I think this tag looks very nice as it is.

This tag is being entered into the Studio L3 CCC #21 perfect distress technique
Thanks for looking at my blog and to all the lovely comments you leave :)
