The continue the theme, this is the tag for her very nice bottle of wine (well I hope it was good!)

Birthday Cards

I made these cards with lots of inspiration from Craft Stamper magazine.
The girl is a free stamp from a creative stamping magazine and the background stamps are Tim Holtz Stampers anonymous.
I liked it so much I made it twice!

DL card

Hi everyone,

I haven't done a lot of papercrafting recently but have made a couple of cards.
I have mainly been sewing which you can see on my other blog: jolandassewingcorner

These both have stamped and embossed background - I don't think I will ever tire of seeing the 'magic' as the powder melts!! I just love watching it!

These are both for sale on my facebook page.

Skyrim card

My son plays Skyrim on his computer for hours on end, so he had to have a Skyrim card for his birthday!!

I made the cover look like a book

I found a lovely image on google and printed it out twice to decoupage the dragon part.
The edges of the card are stamped and copper embossed.

This shows the pop up mechanism - it worked quite well and my son loved the card!!

Another ship sailing in the night!

Hi everyone,
I've been away from blogging my cards for a while as I have been concentrating on my sewing blog!
Hopefully I will have some more cards to show you soon!

This is a birthday card I made for my dad.
The background is inked with Distress Inks and some splodges of mica mists for shine.

I tried to photograph the shine but its too difficult to get it to show!

Out There in the Park

Hi there!
This is my layout for the Craftmania Challenge

The challenge is to use the items in the kit provided.
The photo was taken at last year's Out There Festival in Great Yarmouth.
We spent some time taking silly photos of ourselves.

I used various Marianne Design dies for the flowers and bird.

Here Boy!! Here boy!! - sweet doggy Cujo

Hello!
I have just found a new macabre challenge site and their challenge this week is to make something to do with Stephen King!
I love his tales :)

I decided to do Cujo,

I found my lovely little dog by searching on  Google for a zombie dog lineart

His kennel is just some corrugated card painted with acrylic.

The flowers are Marianne Design dies.

I would like to enter this into the Haunted Design House challenge
Stephen King Knightmare!

Fairytale goes Steampunk!!

Hi Everyone!!
Hope you are having a lovely weekend.

I have been working on a challenge for SanDee and Amelie's Steampunk challenge;
'Fairytale Steampunk'
Can you guess what mine is?

First I drew a wolf shape on some corrugated card and covered it with scraps of aluminium tape.
Using a ball tool I made lines and dots, then painted it with black acrylic paint and wiped it off leaving paint in the dents.
I cut some cogs and made them look rusty with embossing powder before sticking them behind the wolf's mane.
My son allowed me to borrow some Warhammer paint for the blood! The colour is called Red Gore!!
I joined the lower jaw to the head using a key brad, so it can move up and down.
I made an opening and closing eye like a camera shutter.  This was quite complicated but effective.
There is a lever behind the head to open and close the eye.
Yes of course, the fairytale is Red Riding Hood.
I really had a lot of fun making this and would like to enter into the Steampunk Challenge.

I hope you like it too.

Say Hello to Polly!!

Hi Everyone!

This week I finally bought something I have wanted for years.
I've always looked longingly at mannequins but they always seemed so expensive
So when I saw this one was under £30
I just had to order it!!
Her body is made of polystyrene which will take pins nicely.
The only thing is her boobs are a bit too small! so I will put one of my bras on her and stuff them with socks or something then she will be my size!

not bad for under £30 I think!!
Meet my new friend Polly Styrene! hee hee

I have made this card from the Craftmania challenge kit from February.
I've still got lots more stuff to use up.

Look!! what I won :)

I won Golden Globe award
in
From Screen to Scrap's January Competition!!

This is what I received in the post today!

Welcome to fabulous Mini Vegas Norfolk

Casino Jack is the inspiration poster for this month's

Extra Criteria
1pt = Grey base card stock
2 pts = playing card/s
3 pts = money notes

Here is my layout using the poster as inspiration.
I live in Great Yarmouth which I think is a gambler's paradise!  There are casinos, amusement arcades, horse racing, greyhound racing and many betting shops!!

I used a dark grey cardstock as my base and gold embossed stamped coins around the edge.  I printed out some postcards showing all the lights.  There's a couple of playing cards tucked behind the main postcard too.  I tried to copy some notes but the software wouldn't allow it!! so I found an image on google and used that.

The Chinese acrobats are from a flyer advertising the circus.

Archi-Scraps Challenge 8

I recently found a new Scrapbooking site
called Archi-Scraps.
Their current challenge is to use a photo of David Cerny's
Metalmorphosis
as inspiration

If you go to Archi-Scraps there is a link to the video of this amazing piece of public art.

The added criteria is to use a headshot for your photo and bling!

This photo is of my youngest daughter and her best friend at their school prom.
I used various sprays and inks on the background of a ripped pizza box.

Here is a close up of some of the bling.
For the semi-heart I inked and then clear embossed, over this I brushed some perfect pearls powder and then reheated it- it gives a lovely shimmery effect.

Have a good Sunday!

Craftmania February Challenge

Our local craft shop, Craftmania have made a kit up from which you need to make a card for their competition.
Its a lovely kit with loads of stuff - enough to make several cards.

I used one of the white Marianne Designs cutting dies for the flower and flourish.

The aperture was cut with a heart die (can't remember who makes it but its pale pink if that's any help!)

From Screen 2 Scrap Challenge

Hi everyone, hope you're having a good weekend.

The Criteria was to use white cardstock as the base,
Large bold one word title
and a teddy bear.

My teddy bear is in the photos.

Opa is Dutch for grandfather
I cut some tags on the Cricut to go behind the photos and used a little butterfly brad to cover up my little cutting error!! I'm very good at cover ups now; I've had a lot of practice :)

a day at the beach

This photo brought back some great memories of a happy family holiday.

All four children happy together! :)

This is my youngest daughter with her blow-up swan on a hot sunny beach in France.

I cut a stencil of wings and stencilled this behind the photo and layered up some scraps underneath.

I would like to enter this into the Artastic Challenge to use chalks and wings.

Go Karting Double Page Layout

A little while ago we went on a short trip to Holland,
Where, to my surprise my son went karting
(I didn't think he would have to nerve to go on such a big track)

I took a panorama view of the whole track.
The others are of my son going around, he did very well too!

Guinea Pig shaped bread

 Hi everyone,
Are you having a good Saturday?
It's so cold here the only thing to do is stay in and bake and craft.

We've made guinea pig cake so I thought bread would be a good idea!
I pushed 2 sultanas in the front to make eyes and pulled the dough to make ears.
Very easy, but while its proving you have to keep pushing the sultanas in and reshaping the ears, but it baked beautifully.
