Artastic - Insects challenge

Hi everyone,
Artastic are having an insect challenge - I managed to put a prehistoric dragonfly on the layout.
This is a double layout I made of our visit to the Dinosaur Park just outside Norwich a few years ago
I just can't work out how to move the pictures around, so I'm sorry they are not in the right order.

I printed out clip art of the dragonfly and then painted it with glaze.
I had a lot of photos to show so made a little booklet under the big dinosaur.

Horse Cave Painting

I've had this stamp for quite a while now and never used it.  My daughter's friend loves horses so I thought I would make a 'horsey' card.
I wanted to give it the look of a cave painting and used three different distress inks on the background stamping.  The horse on the front panel is copper embossed.
The studs in the corners are copper cosmic pva glue.

Luckily this fits a few challenges that I would like to enter:
Simon Says Stamp and Show - Depth of Distress
Pan Pastel - anything goes
Crafts & Me - anything goes
Delightful Sketches - anything goes

Shiny less is more card

Hello again,
This is the card I made for the less is more challenge - something shiny
I stamped onto black card and then used various colours of perfect pearls powders.
I then mounted this card onto some lilac textured pearl card and then onto the white base card.

I must say I am very pleased with the effect and the overall card - normally I like to pile it on with my cards!!

Bye for now

Tilda on holiday in Holland

I spent yesterday making this card - it took quite a long time inbetween cooking dinner and helping my daughter use the sewing machine!
When I saw a red white and blue challenge on the Dutch Magnolia Lovers blog, I knew straight away that I wanted to use some of my Dutch papers.
The background paper is from a paper bag from a souvenir shop. The house is a brass stencil by Avec.
Behind the windows and door are papers that show a little room.

Skull Appreciation Day

Hi everyone, hope your are having a good day today!  Today it is sunny and warm - sooo lovely and unusual so far this month!!
Some time ago, while browsing on the Internet I came across some pictures of playing cards with a slightly macabre feel - I thought I would use one of these for my card to enter into the Smudgy Antics Challenge - Anything Goes/Skull Appreciation Day.
I painted a piece of card with black acrylic paint and stamped some flourishes on it and embossed with clear powder.  The rose and the punched design round the edge is covered with red tinsel embossing powder.  The flourish is covered with a mixture of verdigris and black powders (I thought the verdigris is a bit too bright and like to soften it with other colours)

I would also like to enter this into the
Simon Says Stamp and Show texture challenge

Tilda folded card

I thought I would have a go at a card with some nice folds in it yesterday - after a while I was wishing I hadn't - but then.. as I assembled all the pieces I realised it was worthwhile after all.
I'm very pleased with the backgrounds on the main pieces.
I was watching Create and Craft Tv at the weekend and have used a technique demonstrated by Barbara Gray to make the clouds - it's certainly very effective.

The butterflies were stamped and coloured with promarkers and then embossed with holographic powder..
The best friends sentiment was embossed with smelly embossing powder!! the smell? baby boy!! which is very nice :)

Sureya manga card

I found this beautiful image to colour by Sureya in her open colouring book here
There are some great images there - you can use them but give credit to the artist.
I really needed some new Promarkers the other day and bought the rich tones set and used the colours, Marine and Cardinal red.  Found some matching ribbon and used cosmic shimmer glue to make the dots.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Heineken?

Hi everyone, hope your Sunday isn't too bad.  So much for sunny Jubilee celebrations today!  I feel sorry for the people who organised street parties, but I suppose we should be used to rainy weather whenever there is an event!!
I can't believe it's June and still so cold.

Every time I look at the Dutch Farm layout, I think Heineken!! When we are in Holland there is usually some football thing going on Euros or World Cup and Heineken's advertising is green and orange.  These photo's were taken at an open air museum and the children had a go at milking wooden cows!!  The Dutch not only have wooden shoes but wooden cows too!!!!

I used a sketch from Scrap365 for inspiration to make this LO.  I used a tulip border punch and also used the 'waste' pieces to go inbetween the cows.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:

Scrap365 - sketch challenge
Frosted Fab Friday - use punches
