Compendium of Curiosities week 16 challenge

Hi everyone, here is a tag that I made using the wrinkle-free distress
technique that is in Tim Holtz's Compendium book on page 33.The tag is made of £1 shop lining paper! It is a wonderful material for inking on and very cheap too!
First, I wrinkle-free distressed the paper and stamped and embossed in copper on top. the stamp is by stampsmith.
I cut out some swirls from cereal packet card (another useful card that takes ink really well and is already a nice background colour). The swirls are spellbinders dies. I embossed these with a mixture of black and copper embossing powder. If you mix your powders you get many more effects and colours.

I stamped and embossed the lion and crown with red and gold respectively.

Another money saving tip! I don't have a craft mat for the distress technique so I made my own using cardboard, masking tape and silicone coated baking paper. I am sure its not as good the the proper craft mat but it does work.

I am entering this into the following challenges:

Studio L3 - CCC week 16 wrinkle-free distress

Simon says stamp and show - distress

Stamping Vacation - animal applause, an animal you wouldn't want running through your house!
Thanks for looking

drunken stampers challenge

Hi everyone, this is a cheap frame from a well-known Swedish shop! that I covered in embossed silver card. I used several different embossing folders to make different designs and then glued them to the frame. After this, I painted with black acrylic paint and quickly wiped it away to reveal some of the silver card underneath.
I am entering this into the drunken stampers challenge - dry embossing and paint.

Distressed Tag - the key

Hi everyone, I have just bought a new book - A compendium of Curiosities by Tim Holtz. It has so many good ideas and has inspired me to make this tag.
I made the keyhole and key from cereal box card and inked and embossed it to look a bit like metal and enamel. The heart is embossed with dark red embossing powder and outline in gold gel pen. The stamps I used are by Tim Holtz. Oh, and also the brads were gold so I just embossed them with copper powder, I think it looks quite effective. the images are free ones from the Internet.

I am entering this into several challenges:

The Stampman - Distress
SirStampalot challenge blog

lots to do challenges - distressed tags
