Fairytale goes Steampunk!!

Hi Everyone!!
Hope you are having a lovely weekend.

I have been working on a challenge for SanDee and Amelie's Steampunk challenge;
'Fairytale Steampunk'
Can you guess what mine is?

First I drew a wolf shape on some corrugated card and covered it with scraps of aluminium tape.
Using a ball tool I made lines and dots, then painted it with black acrylic paint and wiped it off leaving paint in the dents.
I cut some cogs and made them look rusty with embossing powder before sticking them behind the wolf's mane.
My son allowed me to borrow some Warhammer paint for the blood! The colour is called Red Gore!!
I joined the lower jaw to the head using a key brad, so it can move up and down.
I made an opening and closing eye like a camera shutter.  This was quite complicated but effective.
There is a lever behind the head to open and close the eye.
Yes of course, the fairytale is Red Riding Hood.
I really had a lot of fun making this and would like to enter into the Steampunk Challenge.

I hope you like it too.

Say Hello to Polly!!

Hi Everyone!

This week I finally bought something I have wanted for years.
I've always looked longingly at mannequins but they always seemed so expensive
So when I saw this one was under £30
I just had to order it!!
Her body is made of polystyrene which will take pins nicely.
The only thing is her boobs are a bit too small! so I will put one of my bras on her and stuff them with socks or something then she will be my size!

not bad for under £30 I think!!
Meet my new friend Polly Styrene! hee hee

Decoupage?

Well, I haven't done decoupage for a long time -
I don't really have that much patience for cutting out anymore.

I have made this card from the Craftmania challenge kit from February.
I've still got lots more stuff to use up.

Look!! what I won :)

I won Golden Globe award
in
From Screen to Scrap's January Competition!!

This is what I received in the post today!

These things are really useful
Can't wait to use them

Welcome to fabulous Mini Vegas Norfolk

Casino Jack is the inspiration poster for this month's

Extra Criteria
1pt = Grey base card stock
2 pts = playing card/s
3 pts = money notes

Here is my layout using the poster as inspiration.
I live in Great Yarmouth which I think is a gambler's paradise!  There are casinos, amusement arcades, horse racing, greyhound racing and many betting shops!!

I used a dark grey cardstock as my base and gold embossed stamped coins around the edge.  I printed out some postcards showing all the lights.  There's a couple of playing cards tucked behind the main postcard too.  I tried to copy some notes but the software wouldn't allow it!! so I found an image on google and used that.

The Chinese acrobats are from a flyer advertising the circus.
