From Screen 2 Scrap Challenge

Hi everyone, hope you're having a good weekend.

Screen 2 Scrap's January challenge poster is from the film TED

The Criteria was to use white cardstock as the base,

Large bold one word title

and a teddy bear.

My teddy bear is in the photos.

 

Opa is Dutch for grandfather

I cut some tags on the Cricut to go behind the photos and used a little butterfly brad to cover up my little cutting error!! I'm very good at cover ups now; I've had a lot of practice :)

The Key to Tilda's Heart

Hi everyone, I think I am having a bit of a Tilda obsession at the moment!

I decided to make an easel card with a bit of a difference this time, so I made the base easel from cogs cut on my cricut.

I cut out the heart on the cricut too and embossed it with a new embossing folder by Couture Creations. It's a nice big folder too.

The smaller cogs and the key were embossed with various different embossing powders - some of which I mixed together.

The sentiment was printed out from the computer and last of all Tilda was stamped with Distress Ink which I washed with a wet brush for the shading.

Your place in the sun - April Lesson - local amenities

This month on scrapbeginnings the lesson is to scrap something to do with your local amenities.

Well, I think food is very important!! The restaurant Dee Thai is very important to me - cheap and very tasty food, somewhere quiet to eat.

The food is so beautifully presented and the staff so extremely polite :) The journalling is under the round thingy at the bottom right of the photo. It says about the beautiful garnishes - my daughter is holding a carrot butterfly, they also make roses and leaves out of carrots and swede.

Artastic Challenges - Autumn Wonder

This is my layout for the April challenge at Artastic - Autumn Wonder

The challenge was to use Autumn colours, trees and clouds (unfortunately I didn't manage to fit on any clouds unless you count the grey cloud in the photo!) The fence was cut out using my cricut and then embossed with verdigris and distress embossing powder to give a rusty effect.

my place in the Sunshine - lesson 2

Its time for lesson 2 at Scrapbeginnings - this month outside your home should be documented. I decided to use 2 photos of the street outside the front and back of our house. I started out using one of the sketches given but by the time I had finished it had changed quite a lot - it sort of evolved as I went!!

I cut the lamppost with my cricut and black heat embossed it. I got the cutting file for this from Mima's Stomping Ground - she has some great stuff there. I stamped the background paper with Tea Dye Distress Ink.

Another part of the challenge is to make a mini album - this is my first page showing the hallway. I took a photo of the noticeboard - very important in our house!- all the important news is stuck on there as well as postcards from students who have stayed in our house. It's good to hear from them when they are back home in their own countries.

concentrate layout - soul scrappers challenge

I made this layout using a sketch from a challenge on soul scrappers.

I stamped around the edges and on the sewing machine with a Tim Holtz generations stamp. The dressform was embossed in the cuttlebug - I inked the folder before embossing and it looks very effective.

I found sewing machine, dressform and scissors clipart on the internet and then converted them to cutting files to cut on the cricut.

Strawberry :)

Last summer was a bumper year for strawberries in our allotment (nothing else grew very much because of the cold and wet!) For some reason the strawberries grew enormous and tasted so sweet. This strawberry that my daughter looks as though she is about to eat was actually shared between the four of us - it was the tastiest ever! I can't wait till this summer; I'm really hoping we will have the same success :)

For this layout, I used a sketch from Crafty Sketches - I love to use sketches; it is so much easier than thinking up your own placing of photo's and embellishments. I had to turn the sketch on its side to fit in the photos.

My place in the sun?

This is a layout I have made using a sketch from 'your place in the sun'. there is a link to it on my sidebar. This site is a year long course to make a mini 'house' album. Each month there will be a challenge to complete and I'm really excited about this. So this is my first entry.

The coloured band across the middle is painted with acrylic paint and so is the border. I made the border with my fairycut software. It was so simple, first I found a fleur de lis and copied and welded it together, next I welded a rectangle to the fleur de lises and cut it out. I put some black rhinestone on it to add a little bit of bling. I'm rather partial to bling these days! lol

CCC #27

Distress Misting Masks is the technique covered in this week's Studio L3's CCC #27 challenge.

I started off making an oval tag using this technique, but then decided it wasn't enough and made it into a little card.

The flower mask under the lady's face was cut using 'straight from the nest' cricut cartridge and I used both parts as masks. I also masked the face to create the background.

I made the lattice card using Fairycut software and then cut it out. I'm very pleased with the result.

Last November, I won a Docrafts prize draw and received it the other day. It was full of oriental papers, stamps, card and stickers. Just in time to finish off this card. On the front the stamped and embossed flowers and the paper inside the card are part of my fantastic prize!
