We Love Molly Coggles!

From Screen to Scrap's inspirational poster this month is from the film 'a tree grows in Brooklyn'

The criteria to be used were to include a tree, some leaves and use a black and white photo.

This photo is of one of our guinea pigs - Molly Coggles!

As Molly is a ginger pig browns on the page were the only way to go.

I used a svg cut for the tree and also cut out the title on my cricut.

 

I also used a sketch from Sketchbook 365 to make a start on this layout.

Elegant lady

This is my entry for the sketch challenge on the Saturday Challenge blog, I have also combined it with another challenge on Simon Says Stamp and Show - Women only

The lady stamp is by Oxford Impressions.

I embossed with a purple cosmic shimmer on the sentiment and round the edges, unfortunately it doesn't show in the photo how beautiful it is.

Together Wedding Layout

This is my daughter on her wedding day dancing to Endless love by Lionel Ritchie.

I used a sketch from Frosted Designs challenges and the title Together is a word to by used for the Bird is the Word challenge site.

This layout smells really nice!! I used chocolate brownie embossing powder on the swirls and vanilla for the music paper . Behind the photo is a tag with the lyrics to the song.

Once upon a Time

Hi everyone,

I made this layout for Ingeborg's Scrapbooking Competitions using a sketch from her blog.

For the backgrounds I stamped with embossing ink and brushed Perfect Pearls in bronze and green over the ink. It looks very shimmery but doesn't show up so well on the photo.

The title and 'half flowers' were cut out and gold embossed.

Efteling layout - summer 2010

This is a layout I made using a sketch from Ingeborg's Scrapbooking site.
it is from sketch #4. The photo was taken in the Efteling museum with my children sitting at a table groaning with food - unfortunately made of plastic!
My mum gave me a map of the park dating from 1964 - so I photocopied some parts of it to decorate the page.

I entered this into last month's Artastic challenge.

Strawberry :)

Last summer was a bumper year for strawberries in our allotment (nothing else grew very much because of the cold and wet!) For some reason the strawberries grew enormous and tasted so sweet. This strawberry that my daughter looks as though she is about to eat was actually shared between the four of us - it was the tastiest ever! I can't wait till this summer; I'm really hoping we will have the same success :)

For this layout, I used a sketch from Crafty Sketches - I love to use sketches; it is so much easier than thinking up your own placing of photo's and embellishments. I had to turn the sketch on its side to fit in the photos.

walk in the woods

Hi everyone, what a lovely week this has been so far with beautiful sunshine every day.
I made this layout for a sketch (April) scrappers-challenge-blog challenge. No 04.I stamped the background papers with leaves and dragonflies. for the leaves I painted green water colour then punched out the shapes. The flowers are from a shop in Australia (part of my prize from the out of the hat challenge.

Hope you like it, I'm very pleased with the result.

daughter layout for Ingeborg's Challenge

Hi, I'm back!! I hope you had a good Easter and didn't eat too much chocolate.

I used a sketch from Ingeborg's Scrapbooking site as inspiration for this layout. Also free papers from Scrapbook Magazine. The yellow flower is made from a Christmas cracker crown that I found tucked away in a box! I saw it and thought it would make a good flower - I just cut it into circles and put a bead on wire in the centre.

This photo is from last summer - the pub we went to had a real problem with wasps and they were drowning them in J20 juice (lucky wasps!?!).

This my entry for Sketch Saturday. I am quite getting into using sketches - a great idea when you are a little stuck for ideas.
