Grungy Monday

This is my entry for the latest Grungy Monday challenge - Perfect Distress.

I stamped the pen nibs and then did the perfect distress technique on them!! of course, the best bits are covered up - One day the best bit will be in a good place to stay uncovered!

I think the man is the Duke of Wellington.

The quote reads the best things in life aren't things. I made this stamp with my new stampmaker I have just bought.

Press studs are stuck in the corners.

I love masking!!

Good evening, everyone

I love to stamp and using masks is one of my favourite techniques - you never really know what the end result will look like!!

First I stamps the loving couple then the Eiffel Tower and behind this is the Arch and some trees. I made a moon shaped mask and inked over the top of all the masks with weathered wood distress ink. A white gel pen was used for the stars.

I am entering this into the Stampman Challenge - Night Time

Together Wedding Layout

This is my daughter on her wedding day dancing to Endless love by Lionel Ritchie.

I used a sketch from Frosted Designs challenges and the title Together is a word to by used for the Bird is the Word challenge site.

This layout smells really nice!! I used chocolate brownie embossing powder on the swirls and vanilla for the music paper . Behind the photo is a tag with the lyrics to the song.

Thanks for all the lovely comments you have left me :)

Spooky layout for Screen 2 Scrap challenge

Hi everyone,

This is my layout for the Screen 2 scrap challenge this month - The challenge is to take inspiration from the poster of the film Psycho!

I couldn't believe it when I read a post from Debi that she was so disappointed that there were so few entries this month!! I thought this was such a great and fun challenge - so all you scrapbookers out there check out this fantastic challenge blog and see what you can come up with.

Now, onto my layout - the photos are from a pub in a small village in Norfolk, on the Broads. I think the story is that Mary Flynn was a reed cutter and her boat caught fire and sank but her body was never found. As you can just about see on the photo her hands are tied and she has an anchor tied to her feet - was she murdered? was she a witch? something we will never know. I thought this was a nice spooky story for the challenge.

The criteria for the challenge was to use a 1 word title cut in half, a spooky house (I have several) and a silhouette of a figure - I didn't do a complete figure but to the right of the picture is a figure drowning (could be Mary) her arms are in the air and her hair is floating on the water (I hope you can work out what bit is what. lol)

Summer sunset layout

On the Soulscrappers challenge site is a Sense-ational challenge and each challenge is about the senses!!

This time the sights of summer, so this is my interpretation.

The background is painted with acrylic paint which I then stamped into to remove some of the paint. The papers are free from Scrapbooking magazine.

I made bunting from seashells to complete the seaside theme.

halloween panel using Tim Holtz products

Hope you're having a good Sunday!

This is a panel I have made to enter a couple of challenges

I don't really send Halloween cards so I just thought I would make this and see what I can do with it later - I'm sure it will come in useful for some scrapbooking project in the future!

The back part is embossed using a Tim embossing folder which I then put mahogany distress ink on the raised parts and clear heat embossed - it really enriches the colours.

The front panel I stamped with Walnut stain DI and then coloured with tea dye and peeled paint DIs.

The cat is black embossed and cut out from the same embossing folder as the back panel.

ARTastic Challenge for October - the all seeing eye

This month the Artastic challenge was to use a painting 'Dr Jekyll's Hideout' as inspiration.

So this is my 'spooky' layout. I was visiting a church in Best in Holland. This window was in the 'atrium'? of the church (don't know if that is the correct word but it was inside the entrance)

Eyes watching you can be quite scary so I thought I would use this photo.

The background technique I used is featured in this month's craftstamper magazine - messy but fun!!!

Hope you like it!!

Saturday 8 October 2011

Hi,

I made this 'Gorjuss' stepper card and then found it fits with a few challenges running at the moment. But first I'll tell you what cuts I used to make it. The trees are made using the Straight From the Nest cartridge. I embossed them using folders in the cuttlebug.

The flowers were punched and coloured in with Promarkers/

The bunting and tablecloth are Molly Blooms stamps. I think the picnic basket is by Olyfant which might be made by Kars but I'm not sure.

I am entering this into the following:

Dutch Dare Card challenges - special fold card

Delightful challenges - make it dimensional

Sir Stampalot - food glorious food

thanks for visiting and for all your lovely comments!
